SUMMARY:Mindful Movement Program for Breast Cancer Survivors
DESCRIPTION:Providence Saint John’s and John Wayne Cancer Institute are conducting a new research study on the benefits of breast cancer treatment through movement. \nWHO: Women who are breast cancer survivors and completed treatment at least 6 months ago. \nWHAT: Mindful Movement for Breast Cancer Survivors \n\nSelf‐awareness through simple body movement at your own pace and ability\nPossible benefits include improved mindfulness and reduced worry.\nStudy Investigator: Rebecca Crane‐Okada\, PhD\, RN\, CNS\, AOCN\nMindful Movement facilitator: Fred L. Sugerman\, Medicine Dance Founder\n\nSTUDY DETAILS: (Participants will): \n\nAttend 12 weekly 2‐hour sessions\nKeep a daily log of mindful movement practice\nComplete a set of questionnaires at the beginning of the study\, and at 13 and 18 weeks\nHave blood samples drawn at the beginning of the study\, and at 13 and 18 weeks\nReceive compensation up to $135 for participation\n\nFebruary 8-April 26\nEach Wednesday Morning\, 9:30 am – 11:30 am\nFor more information\,   please call (310) 829‐8950 or (310) 582‐7138.\nBreast Cancer Research Study Approved by Alpha IRB October 12\, 2015
