Mindful Movement Program for Breast Cancer Survivors

Providence Saint John’s and John Wayne Cancer Institute are conducting a new research study on the benefits of breast cancer treatment through movement.
WHO: Women who are breast cancer survivors and completed treatment at least 6 months ago.
WHAT: Mindful Movement for Breast Cancer Survivors
- Self‐awareness through simple body movement at your own pace and ability
- Possible benefits include improved mindfulness and reduced worry.
- Study Investigator: Rebecca Crane‐Okada, PhD, RN, CNS, AOCN
- Mindful Movement facilitator: Fred L. Sugerman, Medicine Dance Founder
STUDY DETAILS: (Participants will):
- Attend 12 weekly 2‐hour sessions
- Keep a daily log of mindful movement practice
- Complete a set of questionnaires at the beginning of the study, and at 13 and 18 weeks
- Have blood samples drawn at the beginning of the study, and at 13 and 18 weeks
- Receive compensation up to $135 for participation
